ERA recommends not coating the final, what 1-1/2"? I followed ERA's recommendation. They feel pretty tight and I don't think I would want to try to fight the slip-fit up on coated headers.
When I first got them back, they were shiney and polished. They looked amazing. The shine has dulled a bit, though they are otherwise holding up well. I haven't looked into how to repolish them so I would ask the expert in Belmont.
I'd go there again.
On my part, I am looking for someone that can shorten my headers and secondary pipes and install some three-bolt flanges on them---slip-fits are just a little too leaky for my taste. I want a good seal that lasts.
