Another area to check is the hole in the clutch arm where the master cylinder clevis attaches. I had clutch pedal free play at about 36,000 miles on ERA2041, and traced it to an elongated hole in the clutch arm (apparently due to lack of any assembly lube by the first owner ?). Bob sent me a new arm and pin, which I greased and reassembled. Don't forget to loctite the setscrew.
