Looking at those pics - is that a 1964 high riser - as in "real 427 high riser" intake? If so its a pretty unique piece and has a very different setup than the medium risers - valve cover angle, ports, carb spacing are all different. It mght be pretty tough to get anything other than a factory distributor to fit in there.

My custom carbs would certainly run and link up better than the Summit Racing discount 600s on there now, but they will have the identical bowl clearance - fixing all the issues except the one he is trying to fix.
