Default Mickey Thompson S/R radials

Just finished a weekend at Willowsprings with new Mickey Thompson radial S/R's on the rear of my ERA 289 FIA. (fronts are still Dunlop G/T's).

Like them quite a bit. The M/T's are a dramatic improvement over the Dunlop G/T Qualifiers I have been running on the back. Car was sticking very nicely in corners where the old tires would be slipping out.

The old radial tires were 295-50-15", the M/T are the 26"x12"x15"s. Seem to fill the wheel well about the same. Maybe a little lower, didn't measure it.

The S/R is the M/T radial with the 130 mph speed rating and flame tread pattern. These are NOT the S/T's. Those are pretty much a standard street radial like the Dunlops, Cooper Cobra, BFG radial T/A. Last forever but not very sticky.

The M/T S/R's remind me of my old Hoosier Street T/D's in terms of traction, but without the annoying darting around of the bias type tire on the street.

Two M/T radial S/R's, 26"x12"x15" from Summit were $441, with shipping to Los Angeles $473. Ordered 3pm Friday afternoon and arrived at 5 Monday...shipped out of the Reno, NV warehouse.

Both tires had a date code for June 2011.
