Here's Bill Wells driving #1/10 of the tribute cobras in the Texas 1000 several years ago. Check out the font of the number on the side. Matches the font of the #71 car. I'm starting to think the #71 car was one of these tribute cars and the model makers took off on that.

The #71 Terlingua Cobra CSX4071 car was the 2nd car built of the total of 6 produced. I purchased the car from Bill Neale and Jack Bell in 1998, Johnny Lighting produced a die cast copy of my car in 2001 based on photo's taken in a article in Sports Car International. I still own the car,the photos posted in the gallery are a copy of my car.
