The one question I have after watching that video is concerning the annealing. Annealing softens the aluminum allowing it to be worked without cracking. Now that it is returned to shape, doesn't it need a finishing heat treatment to be the same hardness as the rest of the body (some work hardening will occur, but it is not uniform)? Will this section now always be softer and subject to damage? Where are the metallurgists?!
