I'm reminded of the accident that killed James Dean. It's speculated that the farmer who pulled in front of him was not accustomed to seeing very small cars going at high speeds and misjudged how much time he had to get across in front of Dean. You can say yesterday's accident was the old Toyota driver's fault, but a person would have to be pretty stupid or immature to street race when sharing the road with 70+ year old drivers. I suspect the jury will blame the racer far more than the old man who didn't recognize that an oncoming car was speeding and subsequently lost his wife.
