They are built in the same factory but are not the same car. I’m not trying to reopen the real versus replica argument or anything like that.
My point is that Carroll Shelby and his various companies have gone to great length and expense to protect the Cobra name. Sometimes they’ve been successful, sometimes they haven’t. Superformance is an authorized licensee, but they don’t call their product a Cobra. I don’t know the details of the license, but they appear to avoid the name Cobra in their literature. Thus, it seems strange to me that an authorized Shelby dealer would call the Superformance products Cobras. Isn’t that like biting the hand that feeds him?
