The fact is that most solid fuel rockets accelerate far faster than any wheeled vehicle. For example, the AIM-9 missile carried by USAF fighters since the 1960s must accelerate by at least 20 G's for at least 5 seconds just to activate its arming circuit. Liquid fueled rockets like the old Saturn V generally accelerate much slower. ....
