The correct unit as used 1n 1965-66 was 80/90% gloss black with a silver "Autolite" stamping with the engineering number on it. I can send you at no cost a cover with the stamping (I used to manufacture them under my Ford Restoration Parts license) for the cost of postage. Send me your address info and I'll post one off via slow-boat mail which will not cost much. I will mark the customs tag as "antique auto part/no cost sample" so you should not get dinged on duty.
The correct cover for the regulator has the "I A S F" stamped into the steel, mine do not. The regulators with the embossed "I A S F" are available for about $35.00 brand new if you wish.
