I have a spare gasket, so I checked it. You are correct. There is a small hole.

So, next question. For orientation purposes, I could only find a high flow water pump when I was putting the block together. Is this going to cause any extra strain on the gasket? The problem I'm having is the gasket blowing between the piston & waterjacket. It has happened on both sides of the block now.
