The speed is real.

I used to race slotcars since the age of 7, ran group 12, group 15 in the '90s.

The wingcars you see in the video are "open" class, the motors are the pic Mike hosted above, worth about $400+ each. The motors don't drive well at low speed.

It takes very good hand/eye co-ordination to drive one of these, I was used to group 15 and one my mates let me have a go.
The car was a turn ahead of me and the car came off the track too many times, I gave up, too fast.
