You might check at the ERA website...you can download the text of assembly manuals for free.

Search the thread as I think Bob Putnam has posted the specs before. You should be able to order an entire manual for your serial number car, WITH diagrams, in pdf or hard copy if you contact Bob.

As to whether they were using the late 70's/early 80's Camaro uprights in the late 80's I don't know. Bet someone weighs in this very soon...
