It's been awhile, but there are various regulations and processing times on the payment method to fully clear, without putting your personal funds at risk. In the worst case, the bank can withdraw funds from your account if funds are unavailable from the sender to support the deposit and you had taken possession of the money in cash outside of your bank account.
