Well, it's a single layer cover, very thin and light. I remember buying one like this for $29.95 a while back, and giving it away. I was expecting a soft lining for my paint, and heavy enough not to blow off on a windy day. Very disappointing.
Tell me I didn't make a mistake...

You did not make a mistake. Weathershield is also known as Superweave at California Car Cover. I've had one for a couple years and have found it to be fantastic! It breathes, sheds water, stops dust, is used inside and out, very light, rolls very small and can be washed at home in your washing machine.
I used on on a Cobra Tour in Wyoming when there was rain and ice overnight. In the morning I pushed the thin sheets of ice off, shook the cover, it was dry in minutes. The car remained dry. California Car Cover has the measurements for original Cobras and the covers are available to fit cars with their top up or top off. They fit like a glove.
If I had anything to 'complain' about, it's that it is so slick it slides off too easily when removing or installing.
