This type of canister fuel pump was used on a lot of 60's model Ford autos, including the Mustangs with both 6cyl and 289's....I'd check the fuel filter first before replacing the fuel pump.....These pumps can and will fail like anything else, but were very reliable and were on many cars for many years...
