There is ... short answer is it's fixed, likely a poor electrical connection.
After letting the car sit for a week, I took the battery out and over to Andrei's shop (Thanks Andrei) where it passed a load test no problem. That was with no prior charging since the time the car failed to start. So that tells me the battery is in very good shape. The battery terminals and cable connections were clean and tight, as was the ground cable connection to the frame. Those were the only connections that were disturbed to take the battery out and put back in.
It's possible the starter solenoid did not function properly, hard to say as everything looked good. It starts well now and the charging voltage is correct, but I will keep and eye on it. Since the 289 is more akin to a British roadster than the 427 ... I should expect some electrical issues from time to time, right ?
