That will be a great choice for a street cobra Baz.
Valve springs are a necessity IMHO.

Give Dominator converters a ring, they will need to know the weight, diff ratio, cam specs ect of your car and will build you a converter to suit.
You will be dissapointed with your new cam if you don't, it'll bog down off the line and will be doughy to drive.
A stall converter will allow the engine to flash up to the revs at which your cam will start to make power.
I'd think you would want about a 2500-2700 rpm stall speed.
The TCC (torque converter lock up) can be retained too.
