After a rough day lounging dining in Napa valley today, I was driving back with my wife to go untie the babysitter (Cameron! Not again!) Anyhow, I'm cruising down the highway with about 25 miles left to go and then, suddenly my Tahoe loses power to the wheels!

I quickly scoot over from the far left lane to the nearest offramp and stopped. No gears. Not a one. No reverse, 1,2,3 or OD. Nothing!
Tow it home. $175
Having had a blown transmission in this vehicle before (ten years ago), I popped the hood and did the automatic transmission "sniff" test. The transmission fluid didn't smell burnt.

The only odd thing was that when I looked a the fluid level it wasn't in the cross-hatched area near the bottom of the dipstick: the level was about 5" above the "safe zone".

It hasn't been refilled lately.
Anyone have anything similar happen on a Chevy Tahoe or related GM vehicle?
Taking it to a shop tomorrow. Thought I see if anyone hear could shed some light on this issue.
