If you`re anal , like me , check your hot pressure after a long drive and set your cold pressure according to what you want when the tires are at temperature .
For example , if I set my Avons at 26 psi cold , I get a 4.5 psi increase in the summer when they are warmed up .... which does change the handling . At track days , the increase can be up to 6 to 7 psi . I set my tires at the pressure I want ... when hot , and let the cold pressure fall where it wants , but use it as a base reference .
I set my tires at 22 psi cold and see about 25 to 26 psi hot , which is where the handling is what I want .
