Biagi-DenBeste Honors Carroll Shelby in Return to Nationwide Racing
Santa Rosa, CA (May 21, 2012) - Biagi-DenBeste Racing is proud to announce that we will be fielding the 98 Ford Mustang in the History 300 Nationwide Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, NC on Saturday, May 26th. After a brief hiatus away from racing, the Biagi-DenBeste team is excited to be back on the oval. Team co-owner Bill DenBeste said "Racing is a passion for us. We stepped away for a few years to focus on other business ventures, but we could not be more excited to be back chasing the checkered flag." The team has experience on the track, taking home the checkered flag in the Winn-Dixie 250 at Daytona International Speedway in July of 2004 with the No. 4 GEICO car.
Driven by Reed Sorenson, the No. 98 Ford will be black and gold. The car is designed to mirror the new Super Snake from Shelby American in celebration of their 50th Anniversary. The 50th Anniversary Shelby logo will adorn the hood, along with the Super Snake racing stripes. The Carroll Shelby Engine Company is the primary sponsor for the 98 Ford and will be featured on the quarter panels.
Biagi-DenBeste Racing is dedicating all 2012 races to the memory of Carroll Shelby. His recent passing was felt by the automotive community Worldwide, especially Biagi-DenBeste Racing with whom he had a close relationship. Biagi-DenBeste Racing is owned by Fred Biagi and Bill DenBeste. Though racing is their passion, their careers have been driven by 18 wheels instead of four. Fred Biagi owns Biagi Bros Tranportation with his brother Greg in Napa, CA.
