Retractor seat belts are manufactured to suit the mounting position of the retractor reel. If the reel is on its back in a horisontal position the locking ball is in its lowest position so as to allow you to draw out the belt. therefor the mounting position and angle is what dictates what belt is suitable for your application. In effect if the reel is mounted at 45 deg you require belt A. If mounted at 90 deg to vertical then it is belt B If it is parellel then you need belt C. Therefor if you have the wrong belt for your mounting position you will not be able to extend it without it locking up. To sum up if you mount between the seats you will need a belt that will allow you to extend in the horisontal mounting. To find these belts you need to find a manufacturer or car model that has the same mounting position. Belt manufacturers will sometimes sell retail to the public as in Australia. Hope it helps, John.
