I run mine without filters only at the race track. The rest of the time I have some oval K&N filters. They cause a little bit of restriction, but less than the tea strainers do.

The SS mesh screen seems to work well in keeping the big bits out of the engine, and are said to not cause any restrictions at all - but I don't know that for sure.

At one time, I got the brillient idea to replaced the foam in the tea strainers with material cut from a flat K&N filter. The engine ate 3 of them, and I threw the rest out.

Dwight, you air temp senser looks just fine. For a while I had mine in the same place. Then I moved it to the spacer that's under the throttle body. I don't think it made any differance at all.
