I carry the Craftsman tool bag similar to the one shown above. You'd be amazed what you can get in to it. I started with the basics: Socket set, some combo wrenches, allens, pliers, wire cutters.

All minor repairs and routine maint are done from that tool bag. That way I know I have the proper tools to do the repair jobs on the road, if need be.

I also carry a second soft bag with some other stuff: WD-40, bug repellant, paper towels, glass cleaner, tire plug kit, and some electrical parts. Check out motorcycle shops for small spray bottles. I only carry about 10-15 paper towels, removed from the roll so they don't take up much space.

DO NOT ever buy cheap tools. Your best and sturdiest tools should be in the trunk, not in the garage. If you break a wrench in the garage, it's an annoyance. If you break a wrench on the back roads, it's a disaster. Cheap tools and parts are too expensive.
