I was working in a Telephone exchange for the Bay of Plenty Earthquake in 1987. That gave the place a good shake with equipment falling over etc. That was a 6.3.

I was watching a linesman's van parked out side. It was steadily rolling back and forth about a meter. He must have left his hand brake off or something.
