I said DMV, but really meant to say the county tax office were we get our car, truck, cycle, boat, etc license plates here in Texas. The car was titled and registered here in Texas, but the owner let everything lapse after he lost interest in the car.

Since I plan on driving it 400 miles back home after buying it, if it passed the state inspection I would have a warm fuzzy feeling about getting it home without any problems.
