My understanding was that Ford/Autolite mid 60's battery cap color represented battery warranty period:

Yellow: shortest warranty (1 yr?)
Orange/Red (2 yr?)
Green (3 yr?)
Gold (5 yr?)

I was wondering about cap shape.
