Maybe it was the J4 coupe that was made in California, in that case I was mistaken. But the production ended in 1980. Here is a quote from the Kellison Stallion web page, mentoned earlier in this thread:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Kellison Stallion was a limited edition luxury sports car, designed and built from 1976 to 1980.
117 of the beautiful cars were built and sold to car collectors all over the world. The cars were powered by 429 Cobra Jet Ford engines.
The Stallion Prototype was constructed in the early months of 1976 and was extensively tested at the old Vacaville, CA road racing course. Over 50 hours of substained speeds at 125 to 170 mph lead to a well handling, yet comfortable road racing machine.
ByronRACE:
West Coast has newer, improved suspension systems, including a coil over rear system. Check with them before you get too far into the suspension work.
Wait till you see the WC turnkey being built for me right now, it has all the goodies I could find ! It should be here in April or so
Of course, all West Coast cars have the 9 inch Ford rear end, and a fuel cell, plus the excellent sturdy spaceframe, power brakes, power assist steering, and the extra steel shielding from road, driveline, and an insulated firewall.
