Try this:
First, put the trans. in fourth gear. Use the alignment tool to locate the clutch plate. Make sure the clutch pedal is hooked up and set correctly. Install the trans. When you get it close (when you start to feel resistance) have somebody push in the clutch pedal and rotate the tail shaft at the same time.
If this does not work, then you have an alignment problem. I live close to you, if you want help, e-mail me and I will be glad to come over.
