I checked out the Holley 142 as you suggested and they certainly are compact.

Looked at my setup for the Holley and I would have to increase my Hood scoop by around 4 inches. It would mean that my hood scoop would be around 6 inches above the bonnet line..

I haven't seen any cobras with such a big scoop, might look strange with a big scoop?...
