Hey Duffer! Just make sure that you have a fuse in between the battery. I hot wired mine and, the fan seized. It melted the wire casing and caused a fire under the hood in a traffic jam.
Wasn't good scared the crap out of me. Got the cobra over to the side and, Thank God I had a fire extinguisher in the car.
Not sure about the other stuff I have a manual fuel pump.
Sounds like you have a short some ware that is draining your battery.
