Default CV Joint Bands

Howdy Folks,
I was asked by a member about how the CV joint banding tool works seen in a couple of my pics so below is a few pics for any interested folk.

The tool I bought was off ebay and came with 10 sets of stainless steel bands.

CV Joint Banding Tool With Cutter & 10 Pairs of Clamps | eBay

Tool has tensioner and cut off blade built into it.

Unwind a band, place it around the boot, and thread the end back through the holder on the band.

Insert the end of the band through the slot in the end of the tool, then through the cut off shaft slot, then through the tensioner (winder) slot.

Rotate the tensioner until tightened, then rotate the whole tool upwards to bend the band back on itself.

Rotate the cutoff shaft which cuts the band to the required length.

Push the band end down on itself and fold over the holding tabs, Job done

Rear CV outer boot with SS bands.

regards

Dave
