Sounds like you are primed for scratch....
Just plan:
1) 2x the $ as everything correct and accurate is big $$.
2) Plan on a long build as a car from scratch takes time sourcing, searching and locating parts. In the process figure about 5% burn on deals as that keeps everything in perspective.
3) Be sure to pick frame and body first as that dictates your direction.
4) 427's are easier when locating parts as they are much more common.
5) Every part is custom fit as a hand built frame and body are asymetric and fitting a must. That is at least my exp....
Last, I don't know Mr Bruce however with FFR base you might be in better shape with parts. Let me say, having parts up front makes build easier... A T-leaf car is bit of a chore first time out.
