Jaydee - a wooden dash is good (and appropriate) for a Triumph TR; Cobras mostly had black leather covered dashes or black painted dashes (mainly on 289 competition variants).
What instrumentation layout are you thinking of?
A 427 body can have had originally:
1. a dropped centre street dash, with Smiths instruments incl. clock (not a common layout but nevertheless correct) in roadster layout
2. a straight bottom dash with roadster instrument layout
3. a straight bottom dash with SC layout, Smiths instruments incl. reverse winding speedo

Bottom line though, mate, is ....it's your car, build it to suit your requirements and tastes.
