I don't think "Early 289" power and Lucas generators go together. I have seen Lucas units on 260 c.i.d. powered Cobras. I would expect cars that got Fairlane specification HP289s after the production switch to have the Fairlane HP289 generator system. I know of an intact HP260 powered car with the Lucas system and I am helping a HP289 powered car owner hunt a proper generator and sheave/fan assembly.

The trick part for systems with Lucas generators would be the large diameter (larger OD than the generator's case) cast aluminum sheave/fan combination.
