Mine has hydraulic lifters and after 20,000+ miles there have been no issues.

The problem with the solid roller lifters is they do not take low RPM's well. It tends to beat the crap out of the roller bearings in the lifter. Some have gone to a bronze bushing instead of the roller bearings, but I have never been able to find anyone that can say with 100% certainty that it cured the problem.

This was one of the big issues with the 521 (some say 512 or 514) cubic inch, 600HP crate motor from Ford. Generally the lifters only lasted from 2000 to 6000 miles and then they would spit out the roller bearings in one of the lifters.

Hope that helps out a little. Regardless, I would do a lot of research before I went with the solid rollers.
