DD, I have a Ford 5.0 HO (I think, at least that's the word on the street) and would like to be able to identify year and "model" of head. I can get under the valve covers easily.

Do you have a link to a chart with the identifying marks? I recently replaced my valve-cover gaskets and did see some marks on the head inside the valve covers, but did not have any sort of chart and did not make a note of them. I will remove a valve cover again if I can find a chart to identify year of manufacture and "model", i.e. 5.0 HO, roller cam, that sort of stuff.

My heads are cast iron, not aluminum like the OP's.

Thanks for whatever you can provide in the way of information.
