Since I don't carry a spare I bring a tire plug kit (hole inserts with the tool to punch in the insert). I also have channel locks and cutters. This would be useless without a small air compressor, so I have a jumper/compressor box in my trunk.
I did 300 miles round-trip with absolutely no issues. Check the
oil and coolant before you go and on the road. Gallon of coolant and a few quarts of
oil not a bad idea, too.
Have fun. I took my son on our long trip and he really enjoyed it. First time over the Golden Gate with a convertible. Very cool.
