Just got more great news:
It appears that after rebuilding the engine and needing new pistons due to the cracks on two of them, I also need to replace some of the valves and all of the guides as a few of the valves and all of the guides are showing more than normal wear. The builder remarked that this engine looked like it had been run without
oil. Not on my watch, but who knows what happened before it was delivered to me. There goes another $1200 just for head work.
At least I am going to have the most expensive Roush 427 SRTW ever rebuilt.
Can't take away my bragging rights!
Now, can anyone tell me how to grind off the ROUSH name from my air cleaner lid? I've already replaced the valve covers with generic Ford covers.
