Mission accomplished - used Acetone, recommended on a auto detail site, (applied with a scotchbrite pad) this time for cleaning prior to painting with Ranger - looks great with no bubbles. I quality brush and an X-ACTO knife for exacting cleanup around the edges - done deal. Periodic touch-up will be easy and fast since the white outline is already in place.
