We've been sourcing the latch and striker from the same place for as long as I can remember.
The "trick" is to shim the striker mounting bracket so that the striker exactly fits (all the way) into the latch receptacle. It might be necessary to tilt the striker in or out, although I've never seen it done on a turnkey here.
Generally, we supply all the shims required, but if you need, we have shims that go under the latch to space it toward the car centerline.
