The Ford Thunderbird 8.8 IRS...according to the "book" uses 750 lb springs, but I recon that with the lighter car, 650lbs will work fine.

Went in to King Springs through the week, and they swapped them again...

Drove it this morning....MUCH better...felt really steady and solid on the road.

The fronts have always been 350 lbs King Springs....I think they'll be fine.

Warren,

I have exactly the same set up, but after a few runs have had wheels hitting guards etc... and it feels a bit like an American car, nice and wallowie on the road like it has marshmallows for springs.

I checked the spring rates and have 275 all around (KPS 189X5K 275lb on the front and QA1 10-275 on the rear). Was going to do 14-300 at the front and not sure about the rears after reading your note about 650lb. (was thinking about putting the front ones onto the rear as 12" is about right for the height but I have way too much pre-load at the moment)

Why so heavy on the rear and not so on the front? and what length and brand shockers are you running?.

Any information would be helpful.

Cheers

Lawrence
