I purchased a LS3 from one of the cars that HSV put the LS7's in. paid around $6500 for it in 09. Then paid about the usual for the rest of the bits and pieces.

Put a supercharger on the top of it without undoing a bolt to the insides and have 550HP at the wheels.

I'm really pleased I purchased the engine, as the LS3 block is the same as the LS9, the LS9 gets LS7 heads apparently as well, the LS9 gets some better rods but I'll wait and see, so far it going great.
