Chas and Patrick have a lot more ERA seat time than I do, but I don't have a dead pedal in my FIA and it has not been a problem for me. I have 12B feet as well, and can wear 'regular' tennis shoes, no need for driving shoes as there is a fair amount of room in the foot box.

Not sure if the foot boxes are the same in the 427 and 289 ERAs.
