RG,
I have BDR 1167 with a Coyote/Tremec combination and standard (i.e. no PAS) steering installed by Vintage and the steering is great - no binding and very smooth from lock to lock.
I would give Jay or Brian a call at Vintage to see if they have come across this issue before.
I hope you get it sorted.
