That's a hell of an idea Bob. What pump are you using?
Right now I'm running a Canton tstat and it works fine for where I am, allowing the oil to warm up even in 40 degree weather. Here in south GA, 100+ degree temps are normal in the summer months and the cooler definitely helps even on the street. That being said, getting rid of all that line in the oil system would have to be good for engine oil flow.
