I have never never been really happy with the market available windshield escutcheons.
For one thing, the slot for the frame had rounded ends (the frame has square edges) and to lay the frame back enough to be right for the convertible top and side windows, the escutcheons wouldn't lay flat.
Solution: square the ends of the slot and slightly lengthen the slot in the escutcheon.
Then. I always felt the aluminum escutcheon never looked right against the chrome windshield frame, so I thought I would polish the escutcheons.
Then I found out the escutcheons have some sort of clear finish on them that is hard to polish off.
So maybe I'll get a fresh set and send them out to be chromed. Will that clear finish on them cause a problem for the plater?
Any input or other ideas?
Cheers
Greg
