Made it to the local Auto barn this evening and we managed to cross reference the AC Delco PF48 to Ryco Z663 which is then easily matched to all the other locally available brands. Ended up with the same Drift brand filter with internal magnet. Hopefully this saves someone a bit of stuffing around.
Thought I'd finish off with a photo of items consumed and a comparison of old (left) and new filters. Barely anything resembling metal particles that I could see, similarly on the sump plug magnet.
