Ironic that you've got 3 big block owners (2 blues, 1 chrome) hounding you to keep your color. That alone should tell you something.
Just don't change colors just to have a new project to do. Recognizing perfection is harder than creating it.
Easy thing to do; P'Shop your stripe out of a couple of pictures to see if you like it. That saves you work and disappointment. Just went through this with Sheldon Cooper and his wheel centers. It worked well with him.
