Evan...might I suggest a sorted out coupe or fastback Mustang used in SCCA, but maybe not at the level of that lovely piece JohnnyMac's showing (love that car). You're likely going to have some bodywork issues as you learn, so why take it out on a beautiful thing like that?

As I have said before, you have the perfect car to go and do some HPDE days with, that GT. Great car to go out and learn in, plenty of guys have done it....run at 4 or 5/10s and you'll be fine...your 911 is a great choice too....

I agree with what you said and I think (realistically) for Evan, there are plenty of first gen modded Mustangs out there. Also, don't overlook any Fox body Stangs...I learned with an 88 LX that had a 500HP 351W. There are some great 1995 and later fully modded Stangs that will suck yer eyeballs out. Mustang Don can usually find some nice cars for tracking.
